  1. Religion can be a powerful tool, especially so in less culturally diverse countries, where there is very little difference between political power and religious power. One demonstration of such is on page of I am Malala, "he called himself a Mufti, which means he is an Islamic scholar and authority on Islamic law". This shows that one of the many cases where religious officials hold other positions of power, in this case the ability to make laws. I am Malala demonstrates this very important faucet of older civilization particularly well.

  2. In chapter 7, it talks about how the Mufti tried to shut down Malala's dads school for girls. They went to the land lord and said if they shut the school down, they would get rewarded with a place in heaven. They tried but they did not succeed.

  3. Religion is used as a tool in a place that is ruled by mostly religion and barley by politics. These people have the most power. In the Malala reading it shows that these people live like older civilizations and cultures. Religion is a very powerful tool in Malala's culture.

  4. Malala was 13 and a earthquake hit and did massive amount of damage to cities like Kashmir and Kabul. Malala's family wanted to raise money and help other families survive the earthquake. When the United states heard of a huge Earthquake in Pakistan. they sent helicopters and other transport vehicles to help out there country survive the earthquake. but Muslims seen this earthquake a message from Allah (Muslim God) to punish their people from giving freedom to the women of Pakistan.
